Velocity splice?

I sent it to Nick, and he has it. we had a quick texting conversation the other day and a couple things he said included 'Wowzers' and (this tells you how awesome he is),

"Tsk tsk. I'm goin to talk to them about it. In one glance I can tell there's a prob. I want to give them another chance to take care of you before I majorly call them out."

So thats all I know about it, maybe Nick has some more info since then.

Jeff, did you splice that, or did sampson? and were you having problems with it slipping? or was that just cause you were bored?

I did that, just a test splice, I've got a bunch of old 8-10' pieces of line with both ends spliced, just because. :-P Working out that first little bit, even with an awl substitute is still pretty tough, cant believe yours came out under load presumably.

Jeff, the one you pulled apart looks just right. If you have another test piece lying around I'd be happy to break test it for you. It would be interesting to see how it fails.

I don't want to say too much about it right, but...

The rope was spliced by Samson splicers. It wasn't lock stitched- but really it shouldn't need to be lock stitched. Anyone who has ever tried to take apart a properly spliced Blaze or Velocity splice would know that they are just about rock hard when done and require more effort to take apart than they do to put together.

I'll dissect it I think this weekend and should have a video up shortly.

Ahhh... That\'s better!

Nick worked his magic, and I came home to a nice box sitting on the porch waiting for me today! This rope even came with a card saying who spliced and packaged it. It also has lock stitching on it. did they do that just for me (it looks like it came straight from the samson factory) or has anybody else gotten velocity recently with lock stitching?

Thanks again Nick! And looking forward to the dissection vid, too!

Re: Ahhh... That\'s better!

My velocity came with that lock stitch pattern on it from the factory. I got it at the beginning of the summer
