Couple quick questions for you Sap.

Do you have any actual experience as a line clearance climber (the guys you say you "hate")?

Do you have any actual experience working around power lines?
nope

BUT, I do understand electricity, dont grab the power wire, dont go near the power wire, and the neutral can still kill you

in general, just stay away from the wire, dont let your gear get anywhere near them, dont throw branches into them, and if possible have the power company wrap the lines if you absolutely have to be near them, and have them drop any house drops that are in your way, its free

sorry for any confusion, but the guys im talking about arent climbers, they run a "Jarraff"

id expect better from climbers, as its very hard to control a 75ft fiberglass boom precisely

Also curious precisely how much experience you have running a 75' boom son.....

your on a public forum, on the internet, if you cant handle this, then id suggest not paying your internet bill for a few months

correct, the jarraff guys arent the best

and, I can see just how flexible a 75' fiberglass telescopic boom is, and tell its not easy to operate, not saying its impossible, but it is not easy, I have ran equipment before, I have an idea how hard this stuff is to operate

So that another no, yet you just had to give your opinion on yet another subject (running a Jarraff) you have zero experience with....

We as members of this forum have an responsibility/obligation to refrain from commenting and giving advice on matters we have no experience with.. As long as you continue to fail in that responsibility I am gonna be on you like white on rice son.

back to my original statement, I didnt give anyone in this thread advice on anything

I said the line clearance guys should try and do a good job

and a few buck isnt worth possibly being fried by power lines

tell me, tell me where the advice is please, is saying a few buck isnt worth being killed advice? is saying line clearance guys should try do a good job advice?

No one is immune to criticism.

there are hacks in the regular tree work realm just like there are in line clearance. We all know what a proper pruning cut is and why. There’s no reason for some of the shit work seen in line clearance, just like there isn’t in regular tree work. If we don’t discuss these things universally nothing will change and accountability will continue to become a thing of the past.

100% correct

You post of lot of useless stuff treesap. I’d suggest taking a moment before posting and asking yourself “will this add anything useful and informative to the discussion” if it isn’t a question. You don’t have to reply on every thread you read
