Using the Rig'n'wrench in reverse

I'll just drop this here, I wonder what you guys think of this. Skip to about the halfway point if you don't understand german.
Short description: This guy is putting the rope in the "wrong" way, this leads to more friction than the normal configuration, which is useful since you can drop light limbs in there that will be held, but you can release it under load to lower.
 
The only advantage I see is the "auto brake" on the first couple which no longer works on the heavier limbs when you might want it. I've not used this new version but the original rig-n-wrench with the ZK-2 would often have enough friction to hold those first couple as well, and you'd have to feed it slack to lower or clip another small limb on it to help gravity.
