Things that I've learned from this thread:

1. Don't wear a cowboy hat in a tree removal vid.

2. don't let RickyTree anywhere near a computer when he's been drinking.

3. Shitballs doesn't get filtered on Treebuzz

4. Buzzers are super funny people

5. i just wasted 20 minutes of my life thanks to RickyTree

and best wishes and safety for Ricky. I have to say, he asked for it to go South, so, we can't feel all that bad about it. I know we all would have been happy to have a proffessional discussion about the video, but he wouldn't let it. Oh well, it was fun anyway.

Re: Ricky vs. TreeBuzz

I solved the mistery of DRIFT!

27 definitions under drift in the slang dictionary, most about car drifting and some drifting on water, one finally addressed it:

14. An insulting way to ask someone to leave.

Used frequently about 10 years ago among street kids in Toronto, Canada.
"Hey can I bum a smoke?"
"No."
"What about 3 lines?"
"Are you deaf? Drift"

Re: Ricky vs. TreeBuzz

Noticed you went natural crotch on the silver maple top..

I doubt half your critics would have the balls to take such a big top..

That said, do you think the natural crotch rigging reduced the total force on the tree?. There wasn't much room to let it run.. Given that scenario, I think the physics would show that using a block would allow for more stretch in the line and therefore less shock load and less overall force on the tree (especially if you were using a line with some stretch).

You didn't seem to go for much of a ride, (perhaps due to several of the lower limbs still being in place), so this is more of an academic question.
