Unbelievable

How to enter USA: Filling in the Visa Waiver application and getting approved on the internet, remember all papers, pass the Schengen border in Europe, line up for check and questions before entering the plane in Europe, filling in forms for visa and customs in the plane, line up in a loooong queue for entering the passport control with questions, fingerprints an photo, claim baggage and go to next checkpoint, send baggage on another conveyor for scanning, line up in a new queue for scanning and hand luggage check before entering the land of the free. Total time consumption 4hr ++.
One humble question: do you really want visitors??

Not unless you want to invest in one our really swell banks.

Sorry you had to deal with that, I think the national security (I refuse to use the term 'homeland') thing is a ridiculous kneejerk reaction and it boggles my mind how we can waste that much in resources on screening legitimate travelers when our borders are notoriously porous and air travel could be pretty effectively protected with air marshals.

The kind of security Bush envisioned is a pipe dream as long as we keeping screwing with other peoples. We're just a giant, soft target.

Peace is how you make security.

kneejerk reaction? 2500 american lives were lost! tell their moms, dad, sons, and daugters, that you feel bad some foreigner waits in a security line for four hours all because their family member died......INNOCENTLY!!

The fact that Bush suddenly created 'Homeland Security' and shredded our right to privacy is very definitely a kneejerk reaction and that is utterly unrelated to the grief of those who lost loved ones. Using that logic I could throw the deaths of 4200 US warriors and the countless wounded in your face.

George Bush was dying to attack a country, he so wants to be remembered as a war president... it's pathetic how juvenile his mind is.

BUsh's wars aren't retribution for 9/11, they're his life's dream. 9/11 was just pretext to him. So as soon as he realized he had an excuse he cranked the boiler and ran full steam ahead into an obviously impossible morass... but did he KNOW what he was doing? He SAID he did. He said it would be a quick decisive victory. He had no clue. He kneejerked us into the biggest mess we've seen in generations.

I've gotta back off now... I'm not having a good day.

Cheers BB, we'll talk some more.

I do have the deepest sympathy with all the victims and their families. I was really shocked the day this happened and I will never forget it as long as I live. BUT this seems to have become an excuse for all kinds of restrictions to be put on both american citizens and foreign visitors, limiting human rights and invading privacy. The American constitution together with the ideas from the French revolution was in tis time the model for the Norwegian constitution when we separated from Denmark in 1814. It was an unique document filled with belief in human rights made in a very difficult time. Jeopardizing it for the sake of peoples safety was not an option then and probably should not be so easy today.
It might come as a surprice to some, but there is a whole world outside US and 99,99% of it is not that hostile.

I think terrorist can come in all shapes and sizes. the two main terrorists of recent years bush and bin laden look quite different from one another.
Scandanavians were once the major terrorists of Northern Europe, pillaging and plundering countless innocent villages and hamlets.
everyone is capable of being evil. therefore. its best we let no one in whatsoever. we might as well stop people from being born too.

that's pretty extreme. I would like to see some extreme border control. I think our borders, especially to the south are deplorable! how much money do we lose to crimaliens, compared to terrorists through airports? not to say we shouldn't have strict standards on air travel into our nation. we really need to tighten up these borders though!

I guess thightening up the border control would prevent incidentsw like the bomb in Omaha and the incident in Waco. Your question was "what do a terrorist look like", well he looks like us..

how would that help prevent 2 domestic nutjob groups?

you have quite the interest in pointing out americas faults......how come? but you like to visit our nation...and bash us on our security while doing it. what gives?

Yes, I do like to visit America and friends I have here, I don´t like to "bash" you on your security, whatever that means, I just want to point out that the terrorist or extremist is not always a threat from abroad, it is just as likely that it is coming from extremist citizens. I do not mean that all americans are extremists - but some are, which is my answer to your question "what do a terrorist look like"
