Thanks for the feedback guys. Both good and bad!

The idea for The Arborist Directory and The Tree Surgeon Directory came to me during my work on the new Honey Brothers website (coming real soon! I know the present site is a bit, errr, you know what I mean. The new site is going to set a new benchmark in the arborist website industry).

I found that many Tree Surgeons had little or no presence on the internet and what listings there are, a very amateurish.

As a professional website designer and search engine optimisation professional, I will strive to make the Arborist and Tree Surgeon Directories appear top of the search engine listings when people search the internet for a tree surgeon in their area. It is proven that less and less people now use Yellow Pages and the like and instead use Google, Yahoo etc.

Yes, I intend to charge a yearly fee for those who choose to be listed, this goes towards publicing the site through ads in local press and Google and other search engine sponsored links. As far as how much the fee will be, I thought along the lines of £30 per year. Do you think that is a fair price, considering the astronomical amount Yellow Pages charge?

Thanks in advance guys!

£30 a year sounds more than reasonable, and if it did come up top of google everytime i probably would be interested despite my earlier post

SpeedBird, are you sure there is a market out there for yet another internet trade directory.

If you need a tree surgeon / arborist in any town in the uk it is not exactly difficult to find one on the net. Many of the sites are free to be listed. You intend to charge £30 per year.

Also, in all honesty, are you really going to check every one of your listings to ensure they are `properly registered, insured and qualified professionals`. More importantly, how will you convince the punters that all these details have actually been checked. Even then, it does not guarantee them a good service.

I think your talents could prove more fruitful with a better business idea.

I would be interested for £30 a year if it did the buisness and came out top in google searches..........i wouldnt buy anything off martin honey no matter how good is web site is though!

Hey, good on ya SpeedBird, you won't know unless you try.

Also, I'll be interested to see your new Honeybrothers site. Your suggestion that it set's a new benchmark for Arborist websites sounds very intrigueing.

Although, I have a product on the current Homepage which better still be on new site SpeedBird, or you're in trouble R kid.

Only joking, let us know when its viewable and perhaps give us some insight on the reasoning behind the new structure. Thanks

Reg
