TV show.

Good on ya Drewtree. I've been there and get where you're coming from. Did my first video shoot about 13yrs ago and never watched it, somewhere lost on VHS.

I've had more opportunities since (it wasn't for arboriculture, it was for IT) and it's been really fun. I've watched those and am glad I did. I share this to encourage you to watch. It won't be as bad as you think and I believe you'll be pleasantly surprised at how people give you good feedback. I bet the crew you work with will be proud.

For the haters, well, let them go hate hate hate (or something like that). It's probably all they know to do.

Anyway, good luck bro, hope it goes well. Give @Mark Chisholm a run for a Stihl spot. ;)

A friend of mine was part of a crew that saw some airtime on axemen season 5. Since a lot of locals were featured, a restaurant in town projected the episode on the wall for everyone to watch. My friend just sat back and laughed at how the show edited things for drama's sake and totally messed up the facts. The operation ended up completely misrepresented, but was a good laugh; so please, watch the airing and take it for what it is, "reality" tv.

I will admit - that was very good, but..... um yeah, I got nothing...... That was very good, no BS, no over the top hype, just a solid explanation of skills and mindset. I did like how you weren't afraid to yell at him to stop when he wanted to keep cutting in the tree.

Nice job Daniel. Way to represent our industry. You're very comfortable in front of the camera and I almost felt that you were the host of the show. Well done!

Thanks all... I actually did most of the on camera talking and micro-managed his work from the ground and from the bucket with the radio headsets.. The director said he easily had enough footage for a full 22 minute show, but the network had contracted the 8 minute show and wanted to stick with that, which in the end I think is a good idea, as attention spans are so short these days. I think they did a great job of editing, with a few minor exceptions. And Ryan, the host did a great job. He admitted he was pretty scared (AND RIGHTLY SO), so he deserves high marks for facing the fear and getting it done. He had never run a chainsaw before or never climbed a tree with rope and saddle, though he was familiar with rock climbing techniques. And that light easy going attitude that we had was really there throughout the shoot. It all flowed...

Really well done Daniel. Thanks for sharing the behind the scenes, really interesting. I'll be watching this again.
