Tuning saws.

Trying to be better about doing our own saws more. Maybe silly question, sorry if so. When tuning, need the chain on to do correctly. On bigger saws would be nice to have just the powerhead but seems like the chain should be on to get it right...right? We do have tach and some experience any little tips appreciated. Thanks

To really dial it in you need to be cutting wood, well tweak-cut-tweak-cut.... other than that you are just making sure it starts, idles, keeps running through the trigger movement.
