Trees with poison ivy

Looked at ten trees to be removed. All covered with the worst poison ivy that I have ever seen. I was just curious if anyone got paid more for climbing tree with poison ivy.

Samples from Sherrill? ;D

So, to some its inert, and to some its caustic /forum/images/graemlins/zombie.gif. If you happen to have the non-allergics on your team, payroll might not need to be adjusted.

I just cleaned out an infested hedge of photinias. Wearing a Tyvek suit over my clothes and a face mask they said I looked like someone from CDC with a chainsaw. I worked at most 1/2 the day and then peel, reverse, and toss the Tyvek suit each day. Dizzyingly hot in that thing.

No extra pay for me, but I got privileges. By noon it was 85F outside the suit, I went directly into the shower /forum/images/graemlins/bath.gif with some P.I. cleanser and did shop work the rest of the day. In the end, I only had some irritation around my nose and a few blisters on the back of my wrists where the skin was barren.

Excellent product! This homeopathic remedy helped me prevent rashes from all forms of rhus toxicodendron poison plants (even the evil and infamous Caribbean Poison Wood Tree). I used to consume bits of poison ivy leaves to achieve the same effect. This way is definitely safer by delivering a known and controlled dosage unit.

Anyone ever try eating PI leaves?

Been looking around for price. This is the best I've seen @ $6.99: http://www.seacoastvitamins.com/Store/product_info.php?products_id=183

Here's one from Yahoo Store:

I have always just covered up from head to toe. Gotten done, put all contaminated gear into a garbage sack - then directly home. Stuff in the wash and a good shower. Be sure not to handle your "gear" before showering.

Find someone to do it. In Austin, I worked with enough guys from Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras that would do PI work. They didn't get a reaction from it and often laughed at us when we got it.

Oral Ivy has been keeping me right for years now.

What do you consider "right"? /forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

When I get exposed to it my reaction is maybe 1/4 or lower a reaction than if I wasn't using it, and it's gone completely by the time I've showered.
I highly recomend giving it try, it has my seal of approval, for sure!

I guess that my remark wasn't so funny after all. I was trying to get a laugh out of you by suggesting that you aren't all that "right".

I spent all day yesterday until late last night behind the wheel, so I could be a little tilted myself today (more so than usual).

Two trees I worked in today were covered with PI. One had 6"+dia vines on it and climbed 50' into the tree. The other had smaller vines but the leaves were everywhere. I used my Zubat like a machete in the jungle. /forum/images/graemlins/bud.gif
