trees per head.

Where I live, a town called Cheltenham, the local authorty has every tree logged on a data base. Thats every street tree, park tree, cemetry tree etc. It does not include some wooded areas within the town and of course does not include privatly owned trees.

It adds up to approx 18,000 trees owned by the town which has a population of 110,000. Thats about one tree for every six people, which is quite a good ratio I think.

Just wondering if anyone else can come up with similar stats for there towns so we can see what differences there are.

Remember these are trees owned by the town only.

The town I grew up in has aprox 1100-1200 people living in it. The shade tree commission has an inventory of 1600 + trees. That only includes the parks and street/alley trees.

R Schra,
Sorry I didnt respond to your reply . I had forgot I responded to it. i belive it does. If you contact them under that page you put up , you should be able to ask them about the program. Its very large and takes up alot of hard drive.
There are thigs I like about it some I dont. One has to be comuter savy to figure it all out. It's not exactly user friendly as some might say. However , it will do just about everything you want as far as inventory goes.
