Where I live, a town called Cheltenham, the local authorty has every tree logged on a data base. Thats every street tree, park tree, cemetry tree etc. It does not include some wooded areas within the town and of course does not include privatly owned trees.
It adds up to approx 18,000 trees owned by the town which has a population of 110,000. Thats about one tree for every six people, which is quite a good ratio I think.
Just wondering if anyone else can come up with similar stats for there towns so we can see what differences there are.
Remember these are trees owned by the town only.
