Trees from a distance

That's a good guess... I am thinking along those lines of a willow-ish, relatively soft wooded tree, hence my boxelder guess (I was thinking Sophora for a second too), but I think the Siberian or English Elm is good guess.

Gymnocladus dioecious or a really big Paulownia tomentosa.

Black Walnut and Hickory are good choices because of the similar look from a distance and the stout limb tips, but old TomTheSuperTreeMan got it again!

With Kentucky Coffee Tree (Gymnocladus dioecious)

I deadwooded that tree, thinned heavy limbs and installed numerous cables in it many years ago for $0.00. donated the services to help out a big old tree.

here's a picture of me cabling it years ago. (the ID picture was just taken this past Saturday, in the Mountains of Western Maryland).

Holy snap that tree is big! I thought I saw a distant pod or two in the distance. I have some new pictures, but they are not uploaded, and I gotta run to plant some trees (Happy Arbor Day!), so I'll defer again.
