Golden Raintree
Yes sir , I’m 99% sure because of leaf and seeing “lanterns “ on it last summer, however, i’m confused as to why I don’t remember ever seeing bronze or “golden “ foliage. Here is picture of emerging leaves I took today

No. It is to the left of the Mag and has the dead snag top. Top snag from a lightening strike. Otherwise it would be a magnificent tree.

Mr. Colb rings the bell. This species is on the Endangered Species list and there are only about 300 individuals left that are naturally growing. There are many that have been propagated though. This one is the largest example left on earth and it does not have fusarium. The Atlanta Botanical Garden is propagating cuttings for me to plant on City property near this one.

That is fantastic. Seems like a northern clime tree that got left behind during the last ice recession. Glad you guys are taking it on. I'm in touch with a UF lab that works on it, but I am not lead to believe that it is a priority. Hard one to solve down here in our climate, I think...

In conversations I have had with the technician about the Florida yew, it seems that the cuttings tend to take on their in situ growth form, so a horizontal branch cutting may lead to a horizontal branching pattern in the propagated tree. You all probably know all that, but some of this grower stuff is new to me...

You are right about the effect of the ice age. A paleobotanist mentioned that in a previous email to me about this tree. She had tracked examples well to the north.
