No to both. That WOULD be horrible form for a Zelkova. No, this one is a normal ol' native that I believe most of us contestants would know.

BAM! Good call Tom! Although, after searching the web, I wonder if what I've been calling Hackberry all these years is actually Sugarberry. It seems occidentalis would be out of its range here.
 
Bark does look like laevigata, I was conflicted. Both are called Hackberry, that's the problem with common names. Heres a pretty unique group of trees, see if you can ID them and also point out what's special about them as well...

Tila petiolaris as the two trees in center? Prunus serotina as the tree to the right with open center that looks like it was topped and then had some restoration pruning?
 
I was just asking about the group of flowering trees on the left. It's tough to see, but there are four or six planted in rows of two.

Treezy, the tree you are referring to is a big B. lenta that I posted here before and you said the same thing! I don't think it was topped, just storm damaged here and there.
