It was a Robinia pseudoacacia - I figured you'd get it??? It's ok, most people don't laugh at my jokes anyway...

Here are my guesses for yours...do you offer high-5's as a reward?

1 - Cercis canadensis
2 - Ulmus alata
3 - Gymnocladus dioicus
4 - Magnolia x soulangeana

You've both got #4. I was going to except either because I can't remember which it is.

No other hits tho.
1,2, and 3 still unknown.

One of Tom's other guesses is there, just not on the correct number ...

opposable- I was thrown off because you said Tom's guess was right (White Ash, I think). Nobody laughs at my jokes either.

Is #2 Acer platanoides?

[/ QUOTE ]
Yes.

#3 magnolia as well?

[/ QUOTE ]
No.

#3 could be tough, as there really isn't much to work with. The form and trunk could help, and without leaves you would get it instantly - even from a distance. There is also at least 2 'correct' names.

Close enough.

Salix babylonica var. pekinensis 'Tortuosa'
OR
Salix matsudana 'Tortuosa'
OR
(insert updated name here)

'Torture' was the other clue; obviously you got the 'Aspirin' one

Your probably up. You and Tom both got 2 out of 4.
(He likes guessing anyway.)
