Trees from a distance

I'm trying to go off his clues... He's not familiar with this species, but he is probably familiar with the genus. In which case it's probably not a sugar maple, ginkgo, or in Blinky's case, a European Beech.
 
Bam! Robinia got it. Ulmus carpinifolia 'sarniensis'. Smith College in Northampton, ma. The tallest verified dawn redwood in the state is just a few buildings over, again somewhere near 100'. Going to bring rangefinder and clinometer Monday to get concrete numbers. The metasequoia was 96' in 2002, I put a lightning system in it a few months back, good times!
