Treeflex chest ascender

Re: In-efficient Chest Ascender Straps

Can a croll be attached to regular suspenders as well, such as the buckingham suspenders?

Hi JP

I'm sure with a bit of modification, but I don't think it would be very efficient, for reasons of instant adjustability mentioned previously.

I like to get the Croll off me asap when working the crown, as it tends to foul up with my bridge etc when climbing round the canopy.

If I were to wear a full chest harness or suspender system for some reason, I'd still use a Torse over the top for the ascent, then wrap it round my waist like normal when I've done with it. Its too simple to don and doff as required, without being in the way during the climb.

I hope that helps.

Re:Chest ascender tether Version II

Chris gave me an idea for changing the adjuster. Thanks!

I have no clue what the breaking strength is for the elastic cord. When I pull on it by hand it really stretches. There is a valid concern about the possibility of having any cord around the neck becoming a choking hazard.

To address the choking issue I added two toggles and a keeper. The ends of the elastic is not knotted so the cord should slip if anything were to ever snag the tether.

This passed the Low and Slow test. Flight time is on Saturday.
