Hi all. Recently I was approached by Brian and Bret from Lawn and Garden Webvision when they were looking to add TreeBuzz to their site. There are many things in the works over there as we speak. Check out the forum for TreeBuzz over there TreeBuzz .

There are also some very well-done videos depicting the TCI Expo experience. I am told that they are still editing more as we speak.

Cool. But I dont quite get it. The link you provided Mark only brings you to a subforum titled Treebuzz. Shouldnt the link bring someone here? It really isnt Treebuzz, just a subforum within their site called Treebuzz.

i agree. i think its a good idea though, im running the same thing with my site.....landscaping and arboricultural have enough crossover to be able to compliment each other very nicely.

Odds are, it may bring a bit less than generic internet searches. That website does not have a PageRank, and barely has any posts. New of course, but it's presence introduces the question "to what profit?".

Lawnsite takes the Lion's share of Lawn forum traffic. And a year ago - February 2nd ?? - LawnTimes appeared, drawing a few new users, but a small chunk from LawnSite. LawnTimes forum has about 900 users: but the latest Tree forum to start-up even later this year, is already up to 700 users, in a matter of months. Definitely shows where there is room for growth. Apparently more in the Tree category.

The lawn forum users on established sites seem hesitant to change habits. Lawn forum users seem more dedicated to individual sites, whereas tree forum users seem more willing to visit several sites. Personally, I see little need for more lawn forums.

What the internet could really use, is another "Horticulture" forum. The UBC / University of British Columbia forums basically fill a lot of that niche with an expansive worldwide reach. The countries represented in the UBC forum posts are numerous.

Tree forum sites probably would gain better advantage by networking with the UBC or similar.

Of course, there will be an open door to TreeBuzz if that site offers a hyperlink back. Time will tell how much benefit there is. There is both the number of users to consider, and the number of users that are interested.

Ground Trades is a fairly solid landscape and design forum too. Not a huge following, but good content and well-indexed.

You're right John. It is a forum with a spot for Treebuzz. There are plans for them to link directly to us in many ways. We'll see what comes of it long term. They are doing some interesting things with video and other content. Check out their TCIA videos:

One thing is certain, what "we'll see" won't be hard to miss at this point in the game.

At least they picked a decent color palette.

Nice thing about forum configuration, it's easier to add and remove pieces from than it is with trees.
