What motor is in the isuzu? Do you tow a chipper too? Always loved cabovers, drove a Fuso everyday in another line of work but worry about the power when loaded/towing.
Wish they sold the FTS (i think?) over here, saw them everywhere over in Aus. 26k 4x4 cabover is my dream

I've been thinking about making a similar setup for smaller pruning jobs/cleanups. Didn't know how those unloaders do with chips! Now I know! Sweet rig.

It's a bit of a pain in the butt in some ways, but for a fairly small amount of cash I was able to build a box for the truck that both held all my tools and I could chip into then unload. One man business with one truck to do it all. Sure beat shoveling and it got me started. Now I guess I have three dump trucks. Huh.

Truth is there are a lot of tricks in that system to make it work as well as it did and I don't want to derail this thread talking about my silly little thing I used years ago. During the covid shutdown days I did film a few hours of video to make a full explainer of the system, but never edited it into anything. Maybe if I take time off in the winter and get really, really bored :p

Yeah tons of storage for sure. Other side has even more
Pics?

Who makes the horizontal box on the left side? I'd like to put the same size on my truck. Your International is a bit inspiring for me to finish my 4900. How long is the chip dump?

It's a big v8 500 gasser, not very powerful by any means. We've never towed anything with it, only used for hauling brush to the sort yard.

How's CO treating you? Looks like some chonky aspens in the phot you put up! We don't grow em that big over here very often.

Did y'all build that or send it out? I've been looking into modifying my truck to have better storage.
Bought it like that, 3 years ago. We've had issues with water getting in the top of the cabinets, both sides. Seems to depend on how the truck is parked, rain will run down one side or the other and go straight in. Other than that the storage is mint. Rigging gear for a whole crew, 2 sets of climbing gear, all the saws, tools, and poles. Inverter for battery charging. I think each side cabinet has 16 hooks for hanging gear. And the truck has airbags, easy getting on and off the chipper.

OMG I'm drooling. That's an amazing setup.

Good man, still getting the ball rolling but it's picking up... Those aspens are at our place, some cool ones around here. Found these back in the NF nearby :
