I doubt it will hit the news.

I went to a repeat clients today to evaluate their neighbors failing red oak, which recently let a 20" limb go right next to their house.

The neighbor had a company come in this morning to remove the broken limb.

The company had no ppe, rental equipment, and old ropes (from a quick glance) when I pulled up.

The client confirmed that there was 5 people when they started this morning shortly before I arrived. The lead aerial worker suffered a chainsaw related injury and was rushed to the hospital. They were literally a stones throw from the only hospital within 30 minutes. It probably saved his life.

I'll keep an eye out for news on it, if any.

I actually left after seeing how they were operating and told the clients to stay inside until they were done, I didn't want to risk being around them (or opening my mouth and getting into a pissing match).

Stay safe.

Yeesh, hope his life isn't permanently altered and hope he learned a lesson. I had a similar situation recently and told the homeowner(also neighbor hired a crackhead to remove large failed limb on their side) to stay inside but watch closely and be ready to call 911.
