What is your reason for not wanting to incorporate the stones? Not arguing it - just curious. On a per cubic foot they would reduce usable soil...so I can see that being a good reason not to.

What does FX stand for? There are no girdling roots...i pulled everything back to see the roots all the way around to confirm there is no pressure on the trunk.

Yup soil volume and root interference is the main reason for chucking most of the rocks.

FX = Flare Xcavation, but if you went deeper than the pic ok...
