tree launcher shoots VERY accurate up to 250 feet- Thoughts?

You ever tried it with actual throw line? Suppose it would effect your max height. That mono looks like murder on the hands. Cool tool though. Great for big western trees.

We use 100 pound mono so it’s pretty easy on the hands. We used to use braided line and that was almost impossible to use with out gloves.
You can use a 3/8” rope directly but the weight of the rope makes it to where you can only shoot it about 100 feet max

I was thinking like 2-4mil throwline like dynaglide or zing it or something. I be trying the rope would dampen lift significantly

Ya that might work. But sometimes when you pull your climbing rope through it get stuck in the brush and trees so you need a p-line that is really stong to be able to pull your heavy climbing rope through branches

You are aware that air powered "bean bag" launchers have been out for a while and are easy enough to make diy right? I would focus more on the unit and what sets it apart from the other $200 ready to use well known models... we all know they shoot stuff up. Just my $.02.

The units on the market are all very inaccurate and made of plastic. Only other air pressure unit uses zip tied handles, and has to be replaced frequently.
Plus no other unit can come close to the distance these can. Sure you can buy a plastic unit that will take you 5-10 tries and eat up labor costs.

Curious about your tests, to destruction, failsafe etc.
BigShot is really inacurate, rubber and components failure
APTA has never proven they have met any safety standards, cycles to failure and all that stuff
The LiineLauncher with Blanks is nto noisy
Like the build and safety of DTX looks head and shoulders above the rest:numberone:
I throw and sell an ali bullet as wel . We can talk more I have some insight to share about this market/community if you wish?
Best of luck

Thanks! this is the only unit I see that not only has a safety, but the accuracy and distance is nothing compared. This product is built so well and works better than most, that its being used in a pilot with Edison energy. theres some contact info on the website if you have more insight with other areas.

Like to try to help. few points to think about:estudioso:.
2. You need to be highly highly discerning in what and who you reply to or listen to.;)
3. It is small market, your time and effort would be better served tending to other more lucrative endeavours or family and friends
4. I just don't want you to wast your time and look back at your lost efforts. Having the best or most improved tool does not guarantee a place in the market.
5. You need an in, market, retailer, manufacturer etc.
5. The deck needs to be a bit stacked in your favour and knowing the industry players :tonto:
6. stay clear of the forums let arbos at it
7. Better tool, will find its place be patient
This all comes from my personal experience with inventing, manufacturing and marketing a one of kind rope tool.
It was a roller coaster of a ride with a money eating dragon.
Best of luck and most of all don't take anything personal and careful with the tone.:sisi:

Looks like a great launcher. Personally though I use my long-shot trigger on a big shot and with fishing line coming off of an open-end real and six oz weight can hit 200 feet but of course then I have the process of fishing line to throw line to climbing line. I only use this when I'm climbing mostly old growth douglas firs, redwoods or stuff in Central and South America. The problem I have when shooting at extreme heights with throw line, it's guaranteed to suck a nest up with it unless extreme caution is made laying out the throw line on flat terrain which is rarely there when I need it. We did some tape drops on 210 foot eucalyptus trees at UC Berkeley and had a tie in point at 185 or so. In other tall trees I've climbed I can't imagine setting a tie in point much higher than that from the ground. Between foliage and distance I'd have no idea what I'm hanging on.

I live and work in an environment with fairly tall timber, and I have had great success setting lines from 125-200 ft with the APTA. I would imagine this exceeds what most here need from a line launcher. Once I got past the learning cuvre, the APTA, a well managed throw line, a 14 oz throw-bag, and a bike pump (with a psi gauge) have been an absolute game changer for me. Simply the best $200 I have ever spent on tree gear.
