Tree Guard

Looking for some real world input on the use of the tree guard cable system. Ive used plenty of steel systems from thru bolts, j lags and wire stops.. Cobra systems and the usual synthetic systems. This tree guard system looks nice, and I like the hybrid use of the slings, but dang, the gear is not cheap... Do any of you have experience with this and have you used it on really large trees with big stems?

yup, never used cobra and have taken it out a few trees though.. I used 2 rolls of the tree stuff system, but now use tree guard. I wouldn't expect it to be as easy to splice at the cobra, but it's damn nice and I have no complaints. There might be a few tricks like making the second splice. Where it's best to pull tight and make a mark where you want the first brummel.. Then give yourself a bunch of slack (make big eye) do all the splicing but leave loops, then once done dress out all the slack and waste a few feet.

Cool, thank you. I am going to buy the assortment kit to get started... I like the idea of the slings with the screamers and the color coded tags to see when they need to be inspected. Looks like a nice system

My only complaint is the sling sizes and metric measurements. Otherwise it’s very well thought out. Each sling is rated for upto two cables. So pretty bomber for more complex systems
