Tree Climb Competition Circut

Probably not the best for a traditional set up. Woodsy, throwline would be hard. We could pick a dozen trees, put a marker in it, send climbers in groups of two. Whoever climbs the most trees wins. The marker proves you did it. A time could seperate a tie. No judges though. More about endurance then points. Here a shot of a big hickory. Several dozen giants in this area.

i have a monastary that i do work at full of old grand live oaks that we can set up a full on comp at. just need some contestants!!!!!!!!!

What kinda accomadations are nearby?

i can set a date with a least 2 weeks notice. the monastary is just 30 min outside downtwn charleston. you can google hotels nearby Monks Corner Sc. I can accomadate a few guys but not all. i would set a least a weekend aside. Charlotte comp is in Feb, so maybe Dec, or Jan. Who's in?

You guys are the exact yahoos I thought would get this rolling. Remember 1976, Dick Alvarez, Tree Climbers Jamboree. That got somenthing started. It would be good to get together for fun as well, prizes, fundraising etc sounds like work! Who is to say we can't change rules, add events, and so on.

ok lets do this. before or after the holidays? prizes or for fun? i can secure a site tomorrow. the biggest problem on gear is the rescue dummy. any ideas? i am sure we can come up with the rest of set up gear. i think the biggest thing is to get started and we can decide on rules and regs later. maybe we should all exchange contacts through priv message so we can nail this down. i am really excited to have well talented group of climbers work together, this can benefit more than just competition.

How about a different format. More climbs like the work climb, throwline, speed climb, footlock. Current comps focus a lot of "points" based on talking and things you say. How about more climbing less yak'n. just a thought?
Also we could go in groups and do it by time, honor system, this would probably eliminate judging?
