Today....

Wish California didn't have such ridiculous sweeping regulations, I can't buy an older diesel truck here for work so until I have 30k+ to spend on a newer one I've gotta use my personal truck for every thing.

I unfortunately do Sean, we’re building a house currently and already have two chip trucks. But not a 94 standard with a nicer frame and interior than my 99 7.3… My mini would be so comfy in its bed and it would eat b100, can’t stop!

That’s a bummer, what about the “re-use” part of the recycling triangle California?? Brand new vehicles aren’t net zero

They get passed down to other states on the used market, it's how I ended up with my chip truck. It's not a perfect system by any means, but absent meaningful emissions rules at the federal level, the rules in CA drive some change (hopefully for the better) in the market....

Got an excavator out to my property for the big logs and stump digging where my shop will be built. Using my grapple to do simultaneous climbing removals, and some steep slope felling.

Yes, a house comes first.

Looks like a heck of a dump mechanism.

I've considered buying a newer chip truck, f550/650 size, but it's cottage country here, with poor access.

I used my f450 with a 5 yard box and a 5 yards chip trailer this week, off road. First time i have hauled chips in a long time. My f600 would still be in a muddy ruts where i needed to go. I just barely got my lighter rigs in and out.

That truck would fit my market well.

I was hoping my neighbor was going to find another dump truck project and sell me his heavy duty F350 dually dump, built solidly for a fire department. He likes it too much. Dang!

I tell ya, they should make it just a little harder to post pictures here. I’ll see if I can delete the repeats but : steep ground, 50’ drop off under tree,

Yea it's kinda dumb makes it really hard to start a business unless you're already wealthy, it should be a scaled thing ie grossing over 600k yearly have to upgrade to new equipment, so the big companies that are moving it around all the time will have new stuff and guys like me who are in 3 locations a week 10 minutes from home can afford to start a business.

We got to do this pondo with 3 good sized spars/tops coming up so we both went up and each worked one side and split the center, Ron the guy with the red helmet is a pretty new climber so it's nice when we get the opportunity to climb in close proximity to each other so I can help coach and walk him through stuff more easily.

True fir of some kind. Maybe white fir. Dead fir, fir sure.

I got these cones for $.25 or .50 each.

Kids biking type cone. Easy leave behinds.

Help the homeowners in their driveway until they process their wood.

Danger tape as a CYA move.

Small conifers in groves are quite often impossible to fall through others, inevitably hanging up.

I set up a triple stack in case i could push it through.

After tipping it. I use order face cuts and a push stick/ hooked stick/ rope to activate the 2 opposed facecuts.
I can walk the butt sideways without getting the trunk steeper.

Sometimes requires nipping the hinge if the movement doesn't snap a hinge.
