throwline reel

Re: Winder function

Winding shotline, one of the things I do best. Mom will be so proud.

Back to VIDEO, as you can see, by the two shotline videos that have been shown, a video of this thing is just plain uneventful. A video shot of the line spooling off the reel is just that. Winding up the reel is just that. A video clip of the shotbag launching into the tree, the bag gets lost in view and the line is invisible to the camera anyway.

.... which gets me to thinkin.....

Now, if I had a climber way up in the tree with a video camera, sitting right on the tie-in point, with me on the ground, now THAT would be a good video. Think about it. The camera would have a crotch-eye view.

So, who is going to volunteer for me to fire small, weighty projectiles at you up in the tree?
Hello,..... anybody?

I can understand why no one on planet earth has done this video yet, but that would make you a true frontrunner. If I nail you, or better yet the camera itself, imagine the action, Ka-PoW!.

Here's an idea, the cameraman telephotos into the shooter and the reel, in nice clear view of the shooter pulling, the shot, phwooosh, Ka-Pow! I take you out. Man, that's good stuff!

Ok, lets say the goal is not to put a shotsack into your nutsack.
(yea, right)
lets say we do a throw instead of a bigshot, cameraman,,,,, action! swing, swing, THROW, the bag flies toward its target, up, up, right at the last second the cameraman holds his hand out in front of the camera and catches the bag. Elegant.

Personally I like the bigshot idea, that's action video. Any volunteers? No?

Re: Shotline Winder video

We'll have a suit custom-made for you.

Trust me, Banjo, you'll need it.
