The other day I was messing around creating a dog leash, where two dogs could be leashed together, with one handle. No real splicing, but some braiding, knotting, and round stitching. I did a locking brummel to attach each clip, then added a piece of paracord to create three strands. I did this for two clips. I then did a standard 3-strand braid from each clip for two feet. I then did a 3-part crown knot, dressed and set it, and continued braiding the 6 strands together as a single two-carrier three strand braid. I created a loop handle for the end by doubling the braid back and round stitching. I'll try and post a photo of the completed leash.
I have never used a 3-part crown knot before. It seems to be "dog strong" pulling any two parts in opposite directions. Anybody know how strong this knot is when pulled in different directions?
