The X-Tender climbing hitch

I tried out the ring on srt
thats great to see a trial on srt. Crimsonking I can't see the top of your tresse to be sure but I am tying with three knuckles and three braids with the last braid at the back of the rope away from the user and then the legs coming from the prussic around the rings to the bottom hole on the pulley with the top bena then gathering both legs together in the top hole on the bena to hold the ring in place.
if I am seeing your set up incorrectly or it has to be set in a different manner in order to work with srt please excuse my post as I have no srt experience at all.

the set up on my Ddrt style is minimal due to my light body weight of 70 kg wet.
you or anyone else needs to dial in accordingly to the individual requirements and any and all feedback is welcome.

SRT and Ben! Bring on the vids!
thank you and as you can tell Worthaug it is not for lack of equipment offers but a solid instructor that is holding me back now. it isn't a system I feel like plunging into head first with no priors.:frenetico:

what really gets my engine revving is the Dsrt idea , that appeals as a concept from the enjoyment of two Ddrt setups can be so good. that and watching how easily the whippers got up the trees at the national climb comp on the weekend and then switched over to Dsrt once up there. that idea I really do like to start out on ( my training wheels ).:D

Ben. I don't know any other guys around here that climb SRT. Never had anybody show me either. Got the gear. Messed around with it. Got frustrated, watched vids, came back here and asked questions. Once I made the commitment to really give it a go, I've not turned back since. You can do it without an instructor. All the information is rite here man. You've already red it. Now just go back and reread it.

I use a two wrap, five braid, over over under over over, with the last cross climber side over the pulley. I weigh about 80 kg,and this hitch is my personal dial in to use with imori, but it works "well" with 11mm htp (it opens up a lot faster than I'm accustomed to, but still holds without slipping).

My first run with the tender may not have been too scientific as I just started using the htp. Now that I have over a dozen ascents in two days (enduro-pruning) I will probably have a better feel for the difference tomorrow. I'll let you know how it works out.

So when I went srt they just looked at me with a blank stare like the house was empty upstairs. Most of the time I use a canopy tip and did until life came back into their faces and the sorts understood. During pruning a with a base tie I just gathered everyone around and said "see this rope? If you fucking cut it or untie it I'm gonna die, then I'm gonna kill you twice. Maybe 3 times." When I do a base tie with a porty in use I look for a way to keep those on separate trees and if that's not possible see above quote. In that situation I keep one guy, the best guy, stationed at the porty and he watches my rope as they are processing the branch from the cut. It works pretty well. I'm still here! It's not so complicated. They'll look at you like your Spider-Man.

Tried it again today. I liked the top ring for pulling the hitch. It keeps you from getting burned on hot descents and allows you to get a grip to pull even when the wrench jammed on top of the hitch without adjusting the wrench.

The bottom ring kept falling out, so I let it stay under my hitch and stopped fixing it. It did well most of the time, but would sometimes get flipped, bending the rope and adding a lot of friction, almost completely jamming my ascent. I decided to let it do whatever it wanted to see what would happen, and it eventually worked its way up midway into the hitch, messing with the feel.

Maybe a bit of throwline anchoring it to the pulley will help.

try SRT on a rec chill day... No production pressure, no extra encumbrances like a chainsaw and rigging gear. One thing at a time. Sooooo worth it.
yep thats my first port of call couple of rec climbs,
It works pretty well. I'm still here! It's not so complicated.
I found a local srt guy who is kitted out so will be crossing over to the dark side soon but to be honest I have some kind of inbuilt trepidation towards parting with the two ropes in front of me down to one single line it is almost childish like squirming before having to drink the foul cough syrup, like squirming will make it any better - weird I know but I have been looking at that sight for sooo.. long now it feels weird.

Levi the inner bike tube works great (y) just the right amount of stretch and flex so the system flows.
