The New Treemotion

Love my TM. On sixth year now. Just switched out hip to lower d webbing and back pad and its like a brand new saddle
Man. I really needed to replace that after a year and a half. I drug it out for a few more months, but it was fairly frayed. I noticed it didn't get worse very quickly like some webbing does.

Ya I think that's the weakest link of the treemo. I've only had mine a little over a year now but I think mine will be replaced much sooner than 6 years

Whoa that's gnarly. Maybe it was five years but i got good life out of mine and i climb quite a bit. One of the webbing straps was particularly beat up and i waited a bit too long where the webbing seemed to bunch up at the lower d but i didnt know that they even had a replacement kit at the time! Stupid me.

My older petzl sequioa pretty much had to get junked afer the webbing wore out

I know this isn’t exactly a sequoia thread, but it has been mentioned a few times here. So here’s my inquery: does anyone know the deal with the 2019 sequoia’s rope bridge attatchment at the “rigging plates” “D-open” or whatever the hell they are calling it? I can’t find any clear photos of how the bridge is fixed. Will I always need the Petzl rope bridge replacement, or can I use another cordage with a double fisherman’s knot through an eye somewhere? (Of course disregarding the warrenty disclaimers of using “specific product replacements) were talking Mods here.

There is a new sequoia thread with pictures of the bridge and d rings. It looks like the D rings just capture the sewn ends of the bridges

I saw that in their catalog yesterday when I looked through it, I also noticed that the regular treemotion was not listed. Only the evo and light, does anyone know if the regular has been discontinued?

I just saw this on Wesspur's site. Looks like if you like the original treemotion you'll want to find a supplier and get one ordered. They are being discontinued for the Evo's.

Got a couple climbs on mine and another later today. SO far, liking it. Would like it if they came up with a better/different suspenders system. one that is rated and was easier to put on and off.

I would LOVE to see more pictures of Kevin Bingham's double bridge. It looks like he tied the scaffold/fishermans around both the lower D ring AND the stock bridge

Anyone try this out??? The Simarghu Fire.

I noticed someone in one of the videos from some expo-or-another, when describing the Evo's lower D's, they mentioned that since there are bolt holes built into the design, it was "future-proofed" for improvements, etc. I don't recall the quote, but it sure sounded like a bolt-on bridge adjuster to me.

Ya and if you look close at pictures they aren't the same d's as the original

Let me pop in here & ask a rather simple, but detailed, question about this saddle & possible similarity's to the MB.

The Lower leg loops, rise adjustment & overall front facing suspension, it is basically the same "webbing" design as the Money Beaver..correct? Only difference being.. webbing sizes, buckle/hardware & leg loop "orientation".. correct?

"Orientation" as in.. the MB puts the ISC buckles on the inside of you legs. You can step through like a hulahoop & buckle your legs.. VS.. on the outside you have to step through, straddle or thread your foot through something & then buckle..?

If that is all correct, How much leg loop adjustment is there? Can you float the leg loops way up/loose if you want to? Or is adjustment rather limited & they want them tight around your leg?

Can't believe im just now noticing this. I avoided the TM originally because i thought it would be too small in the winter with my hatred of the cold & layering up like Ralphie's little brother Randy in A Christmas Story... but now it's available in a size where that concern is void.

Also, with Teufelberger's standard of "Green is Go", "Red means No" or whatever the jingle is.. i noticed they changed the Rear Saw Ring from Red to Green at some point or variation.. Is this supposed to support more than a saw? I apologize if this had been covered, i haven't read very far into this thread... Just noticed this webbing deal & posted..

The rear green ring is “rated” for work positioning. The red on the super light is not rated. If you take off the back pad of each, the saddle construction is noticeably different.

Speaking to the Older TM... It has miles of adjustment in the webbing on the leg loops, bridge rise, and waist. I would not be worried with layers. In fact its been some what of a complaint, of having to manage all the webbing tails.
