The Hoeflon C10

how much does the saw head weigh?
That’s probably set up without the factory fly jib option and using a fixed length/angle jib with the GMT on the end. That would make sense for remaining capacity and also for hydraulic plumbing, etc.

My guess is the GMT head and Jib together are probably approaching 1,000 lbs, more or less. The maximum height at which the saw can make a cut is probably around 50’ to 55’ with that particular setup, and capacity may be limited to 500 throughout the whole chart at full extension.

I’ve posted this before but will do it again here. At the time this device came out, it was one of a kind. Not sure if it ever took off…

Now Hoeflon has their own similar offering seen here…

I researched the multicrab early on and couldn’t get any traction. I will definitely look into that multitool now that I know about it. I can envision remotely operating the crane from the tree doing balance-point grabs and making cuts manually. Pretty nice to imagine but reality is usually more complicated than imagination.

Working in that way without a fly jib that extends and retracts would very limiting I would think. I couldn’t see what was going on the picture I posted was so blurry when I zoomed in.

It’s interesting that Hoeflon setup w/o a jib kinda falls in line with most of the under CDL saw trucks I’ve ever seen. Lots of outer boom sections but no jib.
