Teufelberger tRex as a rigging rope

Has anyone ever used the Teufelberger tRex hollow braid as a rigging rope? I have a Rig N Wrench and I wonder if the 7/16" tRex would run through the wrench smoother than a 1/2" rope. The cheapo in me wants to buy 200ft of tRex and use 180ft for rigging and 20ft to make a pocket sling. What do ya think?

Hollow braid will flatten out pretty bad. Lots of 7/16 climb lines out there that would work better. The 12mm Sirius is cheap and works well in the wrench.

12 or 16 strand is the best for the wrench. True blue runs like butter

I use true blue and Hawkeye in my wrench. I grabbed stable braid the other day and had too much friction in the wrench for the size of limb that I rigged (about 7" diameter at the cut and 25' long)


In addition to flattening, hollow braid will pick badly when running against any wood and I would suspect glazing would be an issue too, as I have glazed a few slings.

I've been using one of the tendon static ropes pretty sure mine is a 12mm for light rigging it's a really nice type for the pricehas worn well and is easy to work with.
