Teufelberger 11.5mm and Yale Kernmaster 11m Review

The fact that you don't even use it is the best part. I want to keep some new and shiny too! Maybe Treestuff can make a little sample of 3' of every rope in a kind of display for a gift. Them I could buy it and use it to decorate the living room or something

Dorian, treestuff is now selling boxes of rope for $75...you get all sorts of stuff, dude got 130' of Luna the other day with so much more...great action...I can never have enough rope...best part of climbing IMHO...lol..if my wife and new baby were not sleeping I would hit my bedroom and take a pic of my lanyards and ring/rings you would get a kick outta that...some I will never use...collectors items...

Better tons of rope than skeletons. That's one of the things I like about you, bro. You say it how you feel. Cheese on bread!

I've had a good experience with Platinum 11.5mm, but that's me. I'll spend more time with it before saying too much.

Thank you oceans. I think it feels good to climb on. I was starting to think it was just me cause I only weigh 140, so I don't get as much stretch then other guys do I guess. Definitely going to use it a lot! I do want to see others climbers to go out on a limb and make a video review about what they think of the Teufelberger 11.5 and other ropes that they choose.

The most important thing to do is read about the products and their intended applications. In my opinion, it's not the smoothest jacket for a hitch, but it's great with mechanicals and ascenders.

The elongation is important to understand as well, and I'm not thinking you'd find enough in it for a DdRT application, especially after it settles in and loses a bit of that initial ability to stretch.

I've had it strung up in SRT at 100' and sat into it to estimate the elongation. It sagged 1.5'. The manufacturer states elongation at < 4%, which seems accurate. About 1.5% in my case. I'm just over 200 lbs. with all my gear on.

IMO, this rope would also make a nice double rope foot lock line, although it's intended to be an access line for use with ascenders.

I put my hands on the Sterling tendril at the saw shop couple days ago. Don't know the specs, but the feel was quite soft, like Blue Moon but softer, and skinny! Smaller than Velocity, which may or may not be a good thing.

Resisted buying another rope. I'm with SwingDude, on the rope infatuation, but this time I was strong!

Eric you know me and how much I love rope...and I was using a hitch on the 11.5, behaved badly...very strange rope...give your review when you spend some time on it..know you are using the runner with it..I did not give it much time after the bungy feeling I got with it....but the damn thing is way stretchier than tachyon...too much for me wrenching...lol

Hey Oceans,

I've been riding a HH for some time right now, which I really like. Also, I just got a Bone from Gordon, and I'm considering buying a 200' piece of this stuff. Have you had some more experience with this rope? What do you think about it?

My opinion of Platinum 11.5mm is that it is way too bouncy and the diameter varies slightly with the braid which is noticeable while descending. Way too high of a price for what it is. Of all my ropes, it is the least favorite.

I do like the light weight/smaller diameter of the 10.5mm used as a long lanyard where I mostly use it DdRT to advance above my initial TIP.
