Terex Chippers?

We tried one out. Demoed it for a day and was not impressed. It can't throw the chips like the morbark we tried a week before. The triangle shaped drop shoot makes it difficult to load brush into the feed wheels.

Really? I called just the other day and the guy told me the 710 goes for 23K and the 730, 31 700$ to 34 600$ depending on engine and options.

How could the 750 be the same price?

What made it difficult about the triangular shoot? Thanks!

What we noticed is that every piece that was set on the shoot then had to be lifted from the back to get it into the feed wheels

We are considering the 710. Local dealer gave a price of $24,000. Casey, I think I read that it has vertical feed wheels. Is that true?

The one we tried. Which was the 730 had horizontal feed wheels. Although it may be an option I am unsure. We didn't look into them any further after the demo.

we have at least 4 woodsmans. I believe they were bought out by terex. All have horizontal feed wheels (just a single top feed wheel). I've worked with bandits vermeer and now woodsman. They are the best chipper i've worked with so far. Only thing i would say, is one of them has a swith for control on the winch. Its terrible! gives you no control (all the others have hydraulic levers).

Thanks, guys. The vertical feed wheels were a turn off for me, so it is nice to hear that what I heard was wrong!

I'm looking at a few options and maybe the 710 will be attached to our chip truck after this christmas!

love

I find it funny that the 710 is rated as a nine inch chipper but has a 6 x12 opening. If anyone figures out how to put a nine inch lg in a six inch opening ,let me know...

Nick from NI-
They retail at $23000 plus $600 shipping. That is retail and by no means what you should pay. I'd really talk them down before you think about a 710.

That is a typo on the Terex Website matdand. good catch though.

Thats what i tought but when i talked to rep from woodsman he told me the same thing. Maybe he was mistaken as well...???

Yeah, I found the same info about the 6" opening- but it IS 9".

Thanks for the heads up on the price. I'm heading to the dealers this week to talk to people face to face and see what they can do. Looking at a few different brands, but Terex is definitely one of them.
