Tenex- Class 1 or 2

Location
Australia
I spliced (and lock stitched) an eye sling in tenex- using class one 12 strand in structions (from samson)
I think it should be class 2- with a deeper bury-
Is this a major concern??

1. Which Tenex did you use, single or 2 end? Is it possible to post a pic?

2. As Blinky said, Tenex is a class 1 fiber.
Polyester, Nylon and Polypropylene or Polyethylene are all class 1 fibers.
The 'exotic' fibers; Dyneema, Spectra, Technora, Vectran all are Class 2 fibers. They require longer buries due to the slipperier fibers.

The Green one from samson- two end I think.

Got confused thinking tenex was a HMW/exotic fiber.
Thanks for clearing that up.
The sling is with a friend so a photo is unlikely.

I will be getting some double braids break tested soon, would you recomend breaking some straight bury splices too?

I think it will be a great learning experience.

Cheers

If you have the time and the cordage, I think it would very valuable.
Thanks.

John and I were just talking about bury lengths and straight versus locked brummel yesterday. Perhaps when we get set back up after TCI Pittsburgh, I can take some test pieces to break and post up some results.
