Techlite bar warping

Crimsonking

Been here a while
On Friday I noticed my 540 was having an increasingly more difficult time cutting thru the day, though the teeth had not been dulled. It felt like the bar was bent, but it looked straight. After I got out of the tree I set the saw on the cool, damp ground with the bar flat to the ground. No one else was around the saw for the 15 minutes I was talking to my boss. When I picked the saw up, it looked like an "S".

Has anyone else seen something like this with tech lite bars?

I love my 540, but found that those techlite bars are junk. They say you can "bend them back" but realistically, they just straight up bend. If you have your saw on your hip and lightly touch the bar on the ground after descending, forget about it. I just went to a pro lite bar and skipped those things all together.

Thanks for the input, Mike. I just started for this company and was a little worried what my boss might think, but I knew there was nothing I had done to damage it. It's wild that those bars cost twice as much as a good ole homeowner bar like the one on my 540, but are so flimsy.

I went through 2 of them fairly quickly, and I am pretty decent at taking care of my equipment. The first one....the two side pieces of the bar actually split apart...glue didn't hold...weird stuff. Anyways, I'm with you on this one bud.
