TAKEN: Used Stihl Saw Bars, 20” and 36” - Free!

I have been going through saw bars in the shop, and found two that we cannot use, as we use all 0.050” gauge chain on the larger saws.

One is a 36” bar, that has seen some use but has some life left in it. It’s been across a bar rail grinder recently, and I dressed the rails myself today. This bar fits a 3/8” pitch, 0.063” gauge, 114 drive link chain.

The other is a nearly new 20” bar, it cut firewood for about an hour over the weekend before I saw it wasn’t cutting right and found it has the wrong width groove. It is a Lightweight bar, which are wonderful if you haven’t used one yet. This bar fits a 3/8” pitch, 0.063” gauge, 72 drive link chain.

I want to find these bars a new home, with someone who can use them, so they’re all yours if you want them, just pay shipping. I’ll ship them separately or together. Alternatively, I’ll take a new 20” Lightweight bar with a 0.050” groove for both bars, or used Lightweight bars equivalent of these two, but with the 0.050” groove. Let me know what you’ve got, we can deal!

PayPal should work, I can send you an invoice from my company you can pay with credit card, or just mail me a check if you prefer. I like checks, no fees for anyone besides a postage stamp!

If anyone can make use of these bars, let me know what they are worth to you, or just let me know that you want them and cover the shipping. They don’t help me any, and I don’t want to scrap them.

Hey just out of curiosity, do you actually have a 36” bar for Stihl saws that’s 3/8 .050?

I was trying to buy one a few years ago and as best I could tell, they don’t exist. I buy loops of .063 for my 36” bar and spools of .050 for every other mid to large size Stihl saw I own. They had 32” bars that were 3/8 .050 but anything longer took .063.
Was looking at aftermarket bars too, since I like Windsor and Oregon bars.

Yes, I have a pile of those bars. That is the only bar we use. We use the Rollomatic ES Light, because a standard bar is much too heavy for that size saw.

We buy 33RSK chain by the 100 foot spool, and make our own chains for everything. We use six bar sizes in total, but we only use three sizes of bar on the ground, 20”, 25”, and 36”.

Here is the bar that you are looking for, that is the Stihl part number. And these are all of the bar and chain sizes that we use; there’s a couple empty spaces because I was organizing when I took that picture. All the slots are full now.

Update to post, bars are now free, just pay the shipping and you may have one or both! I don’t want to scrap them, but they don’t help me any hanging on the wall here.

This all rings a bell. Was making those same chains myself for a few years. Fun way to spend an extra hour at the shop.

Generous of you to give away the bars! Wish I could use em.

Both of those are what we use on our saws...

I don't need them, so if someone else needs them I'd rather it go to them. I'll take them off your hands if they're not moving soon.
