T542ixp and 542ixp

That auto-restart idea sounds great. That's one thing that drives me nuts about the 540i is how it just completely stops when it gets bogged down...

I've never had any wet-condition issues with any of my battery tools, but always glad to hear about potential improvements. I notice the bar has some different coloring on it, but I assume it is the same chain as the previous saws...?

Wonder when it will be for sale in the states, I don't need one right now but it's probably the climbing saw I'd like to buy next.

My biggest issue with battery tools is cold weather performance. Batteries won't charge when they are cold...

He doesn't even get cold temps there. Maybe 20 degree F in the dead of winter. I would like to put him in a tree when it is 50 below. I think more than his battery would not charge. When you can't get your bar oil out of the jug. When you are afraid your 24 strand double braid might crack when you bend it. When you forget and accelerate your truck like you would in the summertime and your axle shatters. When your mesh face shield ices over because your breath freezes on it, and you can't see through it anymore. When you are trying to climb and run a chainsaw wearing chopper mitts because the heat packs won't fit in gloves.
But then, I don't like working when it is warm. Take the cold any day over that 80 degree stuff.

Good because I have had the battery on the 540i temporarily shut down in wet conditions..Hopefully they have fixed this issue.
i‘ve had 2 dead batteries because of severe rain and i know plenty of people who had the same problem. also had one battery fall out of the saw nearly hitting my groundy, there is an extra strap around the battery now to not repeat that.
