T540iXP oiler problem

I’ve had this saw for 2 years or so. It never oiled right from day one. Sometimes it oils a tiny bit, most of the time not at all. I’ve taken back to shop I bought it from and they said it was working…. it definitely is not. I’ve done simple things a few times( cleaned everything and ran without filter, etc.) Today I took it apart and took oiler, hose , and threaded actuator piece out to get part numbers and order new. Just wondering if others do or do not have this problem with theirs

I think there have been 2 or 3 revisions to the saw since it was introduced to address a few issues. Sorry don't remember if one was oil related but you may be able to pull up the latest manual online and see what they were. If I remember correctly they are listed in the first few pages of the user manual.

Mine is set about in the middle and I use about a tank to every two BLI200x batteries. Not sure if that's right, but it's not caused me any issues.

I have three in operation and they all seem to be finicky oilers. But, when I take the bar off and actuate trigger oil is coming out of the saw housing fine. Cleaning bar hole and groove gets it back to acceptable operation for awhile.

If you find the same and want longer between cleaning, possibly alter bar oil hole with angle grinder and cut off wheel or with drill bit.

Ive run a few different ones with no issues oiling, and that’s using canola oil. Hope you get to the bottom of it!
I'm using soy oil in mine, super cheap in the 35lb jugs and doesn't have the acidic preservatives all the larger containers of canola I found did. I think both are thinner than bar oil at least in normal temperatures it might actually oil our saws better if it's easier to pump.
