Switch N Go bodies

The boxes sit higher than standard dump beds due to the roll-off features. They rust pretty quickly. You can load more than the truck can winch back up without lifting the cab. The boxes derail somewhat easily when rolling on/off, but practice and experience helps. The center of gravity while driving loaded is interesting on mountain roads. No lead-foot drivers.

I've never ran one, but I've checked them out, used to think they were interesting. The shape of the front of the subframe costs some real estate in the body. The dead lift nature using a common winch is pretty meh.

It's like a heavy duty DR Power version of a roll off.

I ended up building a hook lift, which is what I'd do if I was wanting a class 6 truck.

I saw a Palfinginger (sp) hooklift on a Ram 5500 a few months ago. A much lighter unit than my Stellar hooklift. I considered Switch n Go when I purchased. They didn't look like they were strong enough for serious tree work to me. I could be wrong.

When I say the Palf. was lighter, I would think of that as a better trade to have for more carrying capacity in some circumstances.

I love this idea and am considering something similar myself. Was thinking of just a dumping flat bed and a modular, multi panel chip box or something
That’s a common setup. Making the body stable and free of chip overspray while still being easy to remove is the trick. Also, being able to put the body on the ground for loading is super nice for skids or minis without a huge vertical reach,
