Stretch Air seam splitting

Has anyone had issues with the seams wearing out and splitting?

I had a 7 inch tear while stretching to cut a limb. Very sad and depressing, seeing how this issue can be resolved with the dealer.

I thought I heard once that there are differences between the imported American version and the euro version. Know if this is true?

Have only had this happen to the cell phono pocket myself. But more due to loose stitching that is easy to fix with a needle and thread. Just wish that was only issue so all my pairs wouldn't be riddled with holes.

I believe StretchAirs/Pfanners use to have a problem in Europe with the crotch seam splitting and zipper breaking on the original designs which were bright red and bright blue in colour. I've had two pairs of the newer grey colour designs and they've been excellent, worn daily for a couple of years they eventually start to look tattered but for durability and strong stitching they can't be beat.

your dealer should be able to sort the issues out.

we will see. You say a couple a years, i say a couple a months... im hoping for an exchange or a very very large discount on a replacement pair. I fixed with needle and thread and some liquid stitch for a backup, by the location makes for bad chaffing.

if it were anywhere else i wouldn't bitch n moan but c'mon the crotch on pants just cant be fixed, never the same.

Actually i have and just remembered, I had something similar happen to a pair but wasn't in the crotch area. Was on my upper right thigh while reaching the pants just split a few inches and not even on a seem. But personally I have had really bad luck with these pants. 1st pair had a hole in in under a week just from a silly 2mm diamteter, 1/2" long oak stub. Wanted to cry. Generally new though the fabric is great, but mine go downhill fast after just a few months going through the wash. Turns them into heavy duty paper.

Checked my gaters but label is almost completely worn off after 2 washes but says to wash them rugually and only comment to dmg or loss of safety protection is if washed incorrectly.

Sounds like way too much money for something that doesn't perform any better than stihl, husky or any other run of the mill chainsaw pants. That's very disappointing.

I'm still in search of the ideal climbing pant with chainsaw protection that the outer shell doesn't tear readily from a branch or hand saw touching them or the crotch blow out due to regular use.

Oh well....

I'd bet you a years wages that there is a pair around that you just seem to overlook on a daily basis. Funny is they don't cost any where near 100 - 300 dollars.

It's so simple I can't belive it. Just buy you some 4 way stretch pants for the season you are working. Then just a plain pair of chaps , be it full wrap or not. No crotch to wear out, no seams to rip, chaps are super tough and very hard to rip. The best part of it all your pants are nice and clean at the end of the day so you can stop at the bar without looking a bum.

for one they are not gladiators, they are stretch air non protective pants, and for another, I overheat very easily and wearing chaps or chainsaw pants in a tree would kill me, besides the saw never gets near my legs unless its hanging on my belt.

Yea to be honest I haven't a single complaint yet from the gators but haven't had them a season yet. Though from what I have hurd stitching is just as prone on them to come lose. The none protective one's would probally be bullet proof if they made the fabric twice as thick and made the kevlar, I am guess here, around the bottoms be full wrap so the bottoms didn't get ripped up from my saw hanging .
