Straight bury Break

I received the eye & eye from Sterling Rope. I gave them an eye & eye to break for me at the Morton Arboretum in late July at the ITCC. They were kind enough to break it and send it back to me with a replacement eye & eye RIT cord with sewn eyes, a DB construction with a Twaron cover and nylon core.
It broke at 1 of the eyes at 33.28 kN or 7,481 lbs. It was a straight eye to eye pull. I'm impressed that it broke at 1 of the eyes and didn't pull out. This is a 5/16's" diameter cord with an equal blend of technora, vectran and polyester fibers.
This pic shows the break with the tag sent from Sterling Rope attached.

I'm impressed that it broke in the eye and not at the end of the bury. What's up with that? Unless there was some serious weakness in the eye, I don't see how that is possible.

Don't know what size pins the eyes were on during the pull. That may have played into the equation.
It's a very gradual taper, with a crossover in the middle. This is a 16 strand hollow braid. I only bury 7 strands in this rope. I find it grabs better, on Tachyon and Rocket Line, doing this.

Very nice. I think i was given some of that in a loop form sewn at the union. Very nice stuff. Is it available for purchase?
