I work for a large nationally recognized tree company that has great relations with HO insurance underwriters. The work orders usually read to remove tree from structure chip brush and leave wood as it lay away from the structure. Then another line item reads the cost associated cost of removal and disposal of wood an optional cost that the HO is reasonable for if they so choose. As far as removal of tree portions that remain standing insurance companies only pay to take them down low enough not to effect structures in the event of future failure. Again work order reads chip brush leave wood with the option of HO paying for removal and disposal of wood.
