Another practical example of creep being used intentionally is with cobra dynamic cable.
If creep were not inherent in the splice at low, negative or progressive loading then the "self adjustment" of the Cobra Eye splice would not be possible.
For that matter the same would be true with Loopie or whoopie slings.
In fact the latter, can often creep quite a bit until the cover sufficiently compresses the bury. that can come from improper alignment of the splice in relation to the direction of load.
