stitched bridge?

I sure don't know if the cordage is a good choice for bridge material.

Why spend the money on a splice when a double/triple overhand is free?

The bridge on my Tree Flex is made, by me, from some 11mm rope and double OH.

The htp is old section of access line. Beeline is new split tail that no one wanted. I wouldn't spend money on a stitched eye for this, I just had the stuff laying around. Could make for an interesting new attachment option outside the dee ring??? Question is, will the stitched eye hold up being loaded...from behind the tail?...it is not my first choice for a bridge as I would prefer oem parts, but its stuff I have at my disposal.

Winch, why do you say no?

I wouldn't use the stitched eye this way. When you put weight on it, the bridge rigging plate is going to put stress unevenly on the splice, particularly on the free end and try to cam the free end away from the line. Seems like a situation designed to peel apart the stitching on the splice.

Agreed...the load will be on the tail of the sewn eye which will tend to peal it open. That's not how a sewn eye is engineered to be loaded.

Tie a propper stopper.

Looks like it could fail, "one stitch at a time". Like tearing a phone book in half, very strong all together, very weak, one page at a time.

I bet it would hold just fine. But since it hasn't been tested for this use and isn't generally considered acceptable, I'd stay away from it without testing it out.

Also, since you have to knot one side anyway, the OCD part of me would rather the whole thing be knotted.

That said, the stitched termination IS more elegant. If I had that harness, I'd pursue the concept and see if it was reasonable. If it could hold in that manner, I'd send my harness to someone that could install a stitched eye on both sides.

Also, I think HTP would be an AWESOME cord for a bridge.
