stilts

They look pretty much like every day ordinary drywall stilts. With new construction as slow as it is right now, if you wanted to try a pair out, you ought to be able to find a pair for next to nothing on craigslist, or at a pawn shop.

If you are working on flat, hardscape surfaces, I guess they would be alright. I wouldn't trust myself in a turf setting. Given the wide variety of tools we can use to prune small ornamentals, are they really a time saver?

I do alot of ornamentals and a tallman orchard ladder is very useful, much more so than a pair of stitls would be, but if I were to prune rows of dwarf or semi dwarf fruit trees (as I have done in the past) I might consider stitls.. PS I would think the turf would be better than a hardscape such as cobble stones or architectural concrete, especially if you fall ;)

never really inclined to prune small trees with them, but we have ball moss here and sometimes I think it would be nice for picking those low tips, and maybe for clearances, too. never tried, though.
