Stihl mods?

Had a quick question. I was telling my Dad today how he could take his 361 in to our dealer and have them do a muffler mod on it and I told him I could find a few pics for him if he wants to. So, anyone have any pics of any muffler mods on a 361, or other Stihl saws. Thanks alot

Your Stihl dealer likely won't do muffler mods. His hands are tied by EPA regulations and big fines.

Here is a couple pic’s of the muffler mod I made on my 361. I drilled three 5/16 holes, used the screen out of my 200T muffler, made a stainless deflector and riveted it and the screen over the holes. I made a big difference in the saw, noticeably more power. It also sounds better. Hope this helps.
Pat.

Here is a 460 mod that I build. I also have done the 361(as pictured), and I have a ton of stainless steel pipe for them. You are able to get 20% more power just from a muffler mod. The dealers will not do them, and if you need warranty service they may refuse service.

I deal with a Stihl dealer who loves seeing the crazy saws I bring in. I actually was able to get my dealer to build a woods ported saw when I was just starting out. He had to keep it hidden from his rep.

There are several builders who can make them, they are not difficult that a do it yourselfer couldn't handle it. And you may check on eBay for various sources.
