stihl 361 help

i helped family take down a tree the other day and decided to leave my 361 at the house so i could finish cutting the wood up the next day. well that was a big mistake because my family decided to try and "help" me by cutting the wood up for me. everything was fine til they ran out of gas. they ended up mixing there own gas. a 20:1 mix, which is far from what we are supposed to run.

i dumped the tank when i realized what they did, i replaced my fuel filter and spark plug in hopes that the excess oil didnt ruin anything else (the oil hadnt gotten to the plug, but i figured id baby the saw a little) i also replaced the air filter (it was about due)

is there anything else you guys and gals can think of that i can do to help my saw come around? its smoking a little more than usual, i suspect its the excess oil burning off. is there any long term affects?

any help would be much appreciated

No long term effects. Just run it @ WOT like normal. Dont allow it to idle for more than 30 secs-1 minute at a time, at the most. Keep a good mix of 50:1 in it and all will be fine.

I have a few saws from way back when, that still have the stickers on them saying mix 16:1 with SAE30 and LEADED fuel!

It will just smoke a tad bit until you get all the residue burnt out of it .

Be thankful they didn't go the other way on the mix ,like 80 to one .Then you would have a problem .

Run 'er how you like ,32-40-50 to one .I'm not going to argue about it .
