Stein climbers rope-bag

Thanks Nigel. What new bag would that be? I just got one from Michelle last week and love it.

You can bet that I'll stop by the Stein booth. See you guys in a few weeks!

Thanks Nigel, I’ll see you there.

As soon as I get chance I’ll post some pictures of the bag.

I climbed last Friday and Saturday with the bag and all that I can say is WOW! This bag was designed with the idea in mind that it would be carried up into the tree and kept with the climber, unlike most bags that stay on the ground. The job that I had was a pruning job, where I was working alone and dead wooding a lot of branches that would have buried my climbing line and bag if I had left it on the ground. So the bag can be used for more than just crane work.

The shoulder strap in nicely padded and can be adjusted to fit different climbers. I used the strap, but also had a biner clipped to the bag and my saddle so both were sharing the weight. This helped with the comfort level even more.

The bag comes with a Velcro strap inside as well, so you don’t loose your rope while climbing. Believe me it works too, because one of the times that I didn’t use it, I heard my line whizzing towards the ground. Luckily, I only had a small amount of pruning left, so I just tossed the bag to the ground and dropped the rest of the branches down.

The bag is incredibly well built and the stitching very strong, so if climbers decide that they want to throw the bag to the ground while working, they don’t have to worry about it busting out, like some other bags.

One of the nicest features of the bag is the conical shape to it, which makes climbing through a dense canopy very easy. It can easily hold my 150’ Tachyon climbing line and also is very easy to stuff the line back in.

Order yours today! I know that I’ll be getting another one at the EXPO

Any idea if these will be for sale in the US? I can't believe I missed this thread before TCIA or I would have picked one up there. I have tried calling Stein USA, but they haven't returned my calls.

I picked one up at TCIA and put a rope in it. If you are interested PM me. I do not see me using it anytime soon. I think the may still be on it as I haven't used it.

Why dont you like it?

Don't get me wrong I do like it, just haven't needed it. I bought it at TCIA maybe compulsively you might say. I have yet to do any crane work, although I look forward to it. Most trees here are very easily climbed with plenty of room to work. I was originally thinking of it to keep my life line off the ground while on jobs with other crews. You cannot be too careful with other groundies. Twice this summer I was ready to cut out because I saw my line headed toward the chipper. If I can help out someone in need, so be it.
