steel core flip lines?

I almost always use a steel core flipline. I learned it in South Carolina doing lots of loblolly pine removals. I'm surprised that you don't give them more credit, Tom. While they are not saw proof, they do provide more protection than a rope lanyard. I agree with Sean1: removals=wire, pruning=rope, except around powerlines.

Why not? Did anyone ever describe Superman as "Man of polyester and nylon blend". No? Man of steel, right? Steel core fliplines are as American as they sound.
 
Nah, not like that at all. I like to use my lanyard as a mini rigging line when working trims, and wire core lanyards are a 'lil akward for doing that.

Hey, I don't mind them - GREAT for pine TD's/whatnot. I'm just saying I've never had one.
