Been here much more than a while

Took me forever to understand this concept. I know there are other vids about this but here is mine on the ground. I was so wrapped up in understanding this and showing it that I forgot to talk about what I was doing. Oh well, hopefully someone will learn from this.

Nice stuff @monkeylove. I think this is your first Buzz video, well done. Looking forward to more.

I need to get a camera. I publish a fair amount to YouTube, but private for work. I would really enjoy publishing rec climb vids to share and get feedback from you guys. Sharing climbing technique is great for us all to learn from, rec or production.

cheers

Thanks. I'm suddenly wondering why I use one BDB when I climb and leave the other one on the ground. Time to re-think.

Very nice ML! Time for me to get another bone.
BTW, that splice on your Vortex doesn't look like it was finished. I still see core... Is that just your practice line?

TL, I only use that end of the line when I'm on the pround practicing. It's an older Vortex and it took over 2,000lbs to get the eye that far. I gave up after that and but still keep it on there for practice senerios. It's my shortest rope and my BDB's actually prefer my new Orange Vortex and my Yale 11.7.

Cool, Frank. So, the dual Bone system can work well like that with a single line. Having a splice on both ends can be super beneficial.

That system works very well in conifers. Base tie and access the lower crown, then use your tail as a DdRT system along with your lanyard to ladder up. Then aquire your PSP and throw the line over to snug back up on the base tie and invert. Makes great use of the easy on/off of the Bone. You can even add a fabric sleeve of a conduit to the tail to keep the rope clean and cambium intact.

Keep posting up!

Not a very steady user on TB, but from what I can tell, to work the tree, you're better off keeping the drt through a friction saver and working the tree off of it... Safer too, no?

A friction saver would certainly be used, I just left it off since I was not actually weighting the ropes. I have a couple tube styles that I will use when in the tree.

First attempt while in the canopy was a failure. Long and boring but here it is anyway. Sorry I dropped an F bomb about 3/4 of the way through.
