SRT - Gear advice

There are times when MRS is the best tool for the job, there are times when SRT is the best tool for the job, and there are times when a combination of the two is the best tool for the job. A truly well rounded modern climber must be well versed in both MRS and SRT. Don't short change yourself..Learn both.

Both fo sure. New climbers I like to put them on SRT a few times, then ground them to moving rope until they can intuitively tie a Blake’s or taught line blindfolded. Then throw the fun stuff at em

Ditch the HAAS and go for a SAKA. You need a chest harness of sorts. I’d personally ditch the snake tail. Tachyon is a bouncy shit SRT rope, go with extatic or what use to be a Yale 11.7. Not sure what the hip star is but if it’s a lanyard I’d just go with a few hitch cords, oval carabiners, and a couple of hitch climber pulleys.
I’ve never used a zigzag, so no input there, but if you had a few hitch cords and a hitch climber laying around it would give you some versatility
The hipstar is the new version of the green Teufelberger CE lanyard. I think it has an additional certification and an updated iota of fabrication, but is essentially the same thing.

The first row and a half are the earliest and just guesswork when they were manufactured. Mammut’s choice to limit distribution of some items has driven me to stop collecting their gear. So I guess you can have too many, anybody interested in a carabiner collection?
